As a facilitator of learning, wouldn’t it be great to be able to see right inside your athletes brain, to ‘know’ exactly what they are thinking and how they will react to any given situation - planned or otherwise.
Think about what it would mean to you if you knew how they process technical and cognitive information, why they choose one action over another, how they learn and retain information and just what motivates them to achieve.
Knowing these personal behavioural traits will change the way you approach their ongoing development and enable you to devise a specific and targeted program; one that will not only be optimally effective but also far more efficient for you and the athlete.
This will speed up the developmental process and will reduce the likelihood of physical and mental fatigue or injury.
It will also highlight how you react to situations as an educator, coach and even parent, how you choose your next step and what stimulates your personal growth and development, broadening your options.
We spend a great deal of our time, effort and money on imparting information to our students: we show them, tell them and even get them to experience a multitude of techniques, skills, emotions and actions time after time to embed it into their neurology.

What's a resource like this worth to you?
To have someone do all this research for you would normally cost you over $10,000 (I should know, that's what it cost me!). Particularly accurate information like this - SPECIFICALLY addressing not only how people perform to achieve their results, but why some people perform to perfection consistently. This isn't some boiler-plate collection of answers.
With over 30 years competing at both junior and senior levels and representing Great Britain from the tender age of 11, I then channeled my technical and practical skills into teaching, obtaining physical education qualifications, followed by Psychology after I was seconded to Australia from an elite American sporting facility in 1990.
With this, further qualifications in bio-mechanics, becoming an internationally accredited Trainer and Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming, Hypnosis, cognitive and behavioral science and Results Coaching, my dream is to harness the psychological battles that children and athletes face. This has initiated the elaborate weaving of the techniques found in this book into my coaching, as I recognise it is their mindset that would lead these young athletes to success.
Everything is explained in PLAIN English. Which means it's easy to read and understand. And it's logically laid out.
Which is why "Mind the Gap - The Science Behind the Sporting Mind" ebook is such a bargain at $10.95
That's right, a fraction of what it's really worth or what it cost me to research. Why would I make it so affordable? Simply because my costs to deliver it to you are so low.
This is a digital electronic book (e-book in PDF format) that can be downloaded to your computer in a flash. Which means you can be reading it and discovering all these amazing secrets in as little as 5 minutes from now.
So I figure I'll be able to offer this fantastic resource of information (which if you follow the tips contained in its pages could really give you some amazing benefits) to more people.

'Dave Diggle was a singular and determined young man and part of an elite group that dominated British Mens Gymnastics for over a decade, each with a special talent, and all requiring individual treatment to maximise their potential.
His particular strength was a competitive focus and an absolute belief in his own ability – qualities that enabled him to defeat more naturally talented performers. He was, even as a youngster, the personification of ‘mind over matter’!
It therefore comes as no surprise to me that he should choose to specialise in this vital aspect of performance preparation. He has brought a straight forward and easily absorbed approach to the complex area of Sports Psychology, and initiates the reader regarding its importance and ultimate contribution towards competitive success.
As a coach at Club and International level, I followed a very simple maxim:
‘When any of my athletes steps into the competitive arena he or she needs to be secure in the knowledge that everything that could have been done to maximise his or her chances of success has been done.’
This was the psychological link between training and performance. And since at that time very few of their contemporaries enjoyed the same mental security, it was an approach that gave the gymnasts in my care a clear advantage even before competition got underway!
Understanding that top level performance is ultimately dependant upon such mental focus and security is the first step towards successful coaching, and in this book Dave underlines the importance of clear and simple Coach – Athlete communication and the mechanisms that facilitate it.
Any ‘bespoke’ training recipe needs to be based upon a consultative process between both parties, a process stemming from a coach instigated rapport and a thorough appreciation of his charge’s psychological, as well as physical, make up.
Dave sets out easily followed procedures to help gain this rapport and the awareness of particular individual needs that comes along with it.'
‘Mind the Gap’ opens the door towards effective coaching, it’s up to you - the reader - to walk through it. . .

"I recently read Dave Diggle's book and incorporated the techniques into our gym with our Senior Boys Squad - it turned out to be incredibly rewarding and refreshing. Dave Diggle has a great way of communicating about the needs of young athletes, and has an incredible knack for solutions in getting athletes to respond in areas where they previously felt inadequate. Having spent the last 7 years in Sydney coaching full time I have actually come across a guy who taught me more by spending 1 hour reading his book, than all the seminars I have been to since my arrival here.
Can't say enough about this guy..."

P.S. Three of the Gymnasts I have worked with, who were stuggling to perform at their potential, have recently turned their performance around and won the state championships using Dave's techniques.
Here's another...
"I think being a junior athlete you have so many things going on in your life whether it be school, work, family, or just being a teenager so you really need someone to help plan out your goals and set you on the right path. I'm really grateful for the techniques taught in Dave's book. It helped me put everything in perspective. I almost quit my sport a couple of years ago, but after implementing these strategies and utilising the email support offered, I am now enjoying the sport more than ever and it looks like after University I'm heading over to France to race professionally. Thanks again Dave."

And another...
"Sport is my life; I spend a lot of my time studying advanced coaching techniques to improve my and my athlete's performances. I read Dave Diggle's book "Mind the Gap" and found it refreshingly enlightening, informative and easy to understand. I have since applied many of the key coaching principles from the book, finding them to be hugely effective. I would recommend anyone involved in sport read this book as it will change the way you coach and/or perform."
